Santa in the Plaza Brings Holiday Cheer to Downtown Lincoln

Downtown Lincoln was filled with holiday magic as families gathered for the Downtown Lincoln Association’s annual Santa in the Plaza event at Beermann Plaza. The evening brought together children, parents, local businesses, and volunteers for a festive celebration that truly captured the spirit of the season.

Special Moments With Santa

From the moment Santa arrived, the plaza buzzed with excitement. Kids lined up eagerly to meet Santa, share their Christmas wishes, and snap a photo to remember the moment. Whether it was big smiles, shy waves, or a few happy tears, every reaction added to the charm and joy of the evening.

One of the highlights of the event was the complimentary Santa photo experience. Families received a keepsake photo along with a QR code to access their digital images, making it easy to relive those memories long after the holidays.

Adding to the fun was the free standing photo booth, sposored and manned by Century 21. Families enjoyed taking playful group photos and went home with festive photo strips, complete with an ornament holder so they could hang their memories on the tree. Kids love the facepainting booth provided by the Rotary Club and Lincoln High School Students. To keep everyone warm, Hops and Hogs provided hot chocolate for guests to enjoy. Nothing says Christmas quite like a warm cup of hot chocolate during the holidays.

A Celebration of Local Businesses and Community

The Downtown Lincoln Association would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, and partners who made this event possible. Their generosity and support allow us to continue creating meaningful events that bring people downtown and support local commerce. The Lincoln Museum provided a warm and dry space for use to keep the event going, despite the rainy weather.

Events like Santa in the Plaza would not be possible without our incredible local businesses, volunteers, and families who make downtown Lincoln such a vibrant place to live, work, and gather. A special thank you to Jennyennio Photography for capturing unforgettable moments with Santa and dedicating countless hours to editing and delivering the photos. The Photo Booth was a huge hit thanks to Century 21, our booth sponsor. We also thank Executive Plumbing and Scoop Sharks for sponsoring the Santa photo tickets.

A huge thank you goes to our Event Committee, committee chairs, DLA Board Members, and DLA Members. And of course, thank you to Randy Johnson for stepping in as Santa. We do not give ourselves enough credit, but it is worth saying that without the volunteer spirit of our DLA members and board, events like this simply would not happen.

Your commitment and teamwork are what keep downtown Lincoln thriving and full of life.

Looking Ahead to 2026

The Downtown Lincoln Association is proud to create moments that bring our community together, support local businesses, and make downtown a place full of heart and connection.

We are already looking forward to more family friendly events in the year ahead, so stay tuned for announcements on our next downtown celebration. To Local businesses - I hope you join us as members and support our cause and the fun.

🧡 Thank you, Lincoln, for showing up with so much holiday spirit. Let’s keep the energy going and continue supporting the small businesses that make our community strong.
