About Randy

Randy Johnson is a longtime Lincoln business owner, retired firefighter, and community leader who brings decades of public service and small-business experience to the Downtown Lincoln Association.

Randy moved to Lincoln in 2007 following a 34-year career in the fire service. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter and worked his way through the ranks, eventually retiring as an engine captain. After retirement, Randy turned a personal interest into a second career as a small-business owner, opening Lincoln Gun Exchange in Downtown Lincoln.

Located on 5th Street in historic Downtown Lincoln, Lincoln Gun Exchange has grown into an established family-owned local business serving the community for more than 15 years.

Randy's commitment to Lincoln extends beyond his own business. He has been actively involved in the local business community for many years and also serves on the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Serving Downtown Lincoln

As Vice President of the Downtown Lincoln Association, Randy brings a valuable combination of public service, business ownership, and firsthand experience operating a storefront in Downtown Lincoln.

Having spent decades serving the public as a firefighter and many more years running a downtown business, Randy understands the importance of service, responsibility, strong relationships, and having local business owners actively involved in their community.

His long-standing presence downtown gives him firsthand knowledge of how Downtown Lincoln has evolved over the years, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing its businesses.

As a member of both the DLA and Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce boards, Randy continues to dedicate his time to supporting Lincoln's business community and helping create a strong and vibrant local economy.

For Randy, serving the DLA is a continuation of something he has done throughout his career: serving his community and helping make it stronger.
